The online guide is worth the $

As others have stated, this guide is good for what it's worth. Almost everything in it can be found online for free yet the maps make this guide worthwhile. You also get a code for the online version of the guide with purchase which my son loves, I prefer the hard copies. If you are like me and prefer to turn the pages of a book/guide then by all means, buy it. I don't think I'd be inclined to buy the hard copy ever again though, the online version is identical but for half the price. Even better, the online guide has links throughout it which take you to that particular section rather than having to flip through the pages of the hard copy. The online guide saved you time. I feel the hard copy is overpriced for what you get, so if you feel the urge to buy it, save yourself $10 and buy it digitally.

Good if you just need info or want to know how to make things. I wish the maps actually showed where certain items were on it instead of listing them in a box off to the side. I found the walkthrough wasn't that helpful as it listed everything for an island all in the same section, even though a lot of things couldn't be done or unlocked until later, and it felt cramped with all the freaking text boxes split up over the page. I use it mostly for the list of recipes and rooms.

He re-allocated to CRRC Shanghai Bureau as Deputy Director General in 2007. Dr. Zhang is an experienced financial expert with many articles and books published both in English and Chinese including Exotic Options – A Guide to 2nd Generation Options (1998); Chinese Yuan (RMB) Derivatives Products (2004, English edition), Chinese Yuan Derivatives and Practices (2006, 1st and 2008, 2nd, Chinese eds.), and Chinese Yuan Product Innovation, (2010, Chinese ed.).

The Health For Life series of books is, in my opinion, the absolute best set of reference for well researched strength and performance training along with supplementation of healthy foods. The company was founded by experts in athletic training, bodybuilders, power lifters, martial artists, athletes, and other experts in the field. Extensive bio-metric testing was incorporated into all their study. There is no need for endorsement by popular genetic freaks or billion dollar companies, its all hard science. Sadly, the former is probably why you haven't heard of these guys unless you browse some old issues of muscle & fitness or ironman and come across their incredible Legendary Abs or Power Forearms! program advertisement. Look into picking up a copy of all their books and you wont regret it. The library that I own comprises: The Human Fuel Handbook, TNT Total Neck and Traps, Power Forearms!, Explosive Power (Plyometrics), The HFL Training Advisor, MaxO2 Aerobic Training, Legendary Abs Gold (several reissues and updates exist), Maximum Calves, Transfigure I and II, Mind Games, SynerShape, SynerAbs, SynerStretch, The Body Ball Book, 7 Minute Rotator Cuff Solution, Weightless Workout, and my favorite Secrets of Advanced Body Builders. They also had great videos on punching speed, jeet kune do, and gym kai ryu martial arts but I sadly lost these in a move.

About the Author
W. Mark Saltzman is the Goizueta Professor of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering at Yale University, and was the founding Chair of the Yale Department of Biomedical Engineering. He has taught numerous courses on topics in biomedical engineering over the last three decades, and has been widely recognised for his excellence in research and teaching. He is a Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering and a Fellow of the Biomedical Engineering Society. He is also the recipient of the 2014 Mines Medal and has been elected to the Institute of Medicine.

Grade 3-6-Arranged in chapters by continent, these crafts will be useful for geography and cultural reports. The authors use a system of symbols to denote which continent is associated with the activity, the level of difficulty, the basic art technique involved, and how easy or difficult the required materials are to procure. Black-and-white line drawings illustrate the process and/or the finished product for each project. Most of the activities are interesting and directly linked to the cultures they represent. Others, like several for Antarctica, seem more contrived. Building a structure of icing and sugar cubes is sure to be a hit with children, but how illustrative is it of the Antarctic environment? Necessarily, not all countries and cultures are included but many are represented by more than one project. While children can use this book, the descriptions (e.g., "Young children create a miniature woodland scene..."), the pervasive use of symbols or icons, and the terse but accurate directions indicate that this book was designed for adults.

Love those Kohl books.

I enjoy all of MaryAnn F. Kohl's books, and this one is a little different than her others as it has a bit more in the way of finished products, though they are all arrived at by discovering and creating. Still, this book works well for those older kids who want a little more "fact" in their art. My favorite chapter revolves around Asian projects, in particular those from Japan.

perfect for an art class...

I was looking for art projects to complliment a diversity curriculum...while this is perfect for an art class, I am only able to use a few of the projects. Most of the projects are geared for grade schoolers and up (5 years and up).

I am keeping the book to compliment my educational library at home and in the classroom. You might want to check out "Hands around the world" (I rating this one 5 stars!).

Great geography supplemental book

As a homeschooling mom, I took one look at the copy I got from the library and decided I had to have this book in my collection. Its a great resource. Very creative and unique. Saves me from having to hunt up fun hands on activities for the countries we are studying. I am not an artsy craftsy kind of person and usually find that stuff a waste of time. So something must be really good for me to take notice of. I think theres alot of value to this book. Its a resource to supplement what you are teaching.
